QUATUOR iXi

RÉGIS HUBY. VIOLIN / THÉO CECCALDI. VIOLIN / GUILLAUME ROY. VIOLA / ATSUSHI SAKAÏ. CELLO

concert

The iXi quartet was created in 1994 by Guillaume Roy and Régis Huby and is back in the saddle again for its twentieth birthday with two fellow travelers. Atsushi Sakaï, a cellist who can play Baroque as well as classical or contemporary or improvised music, modeled on the one invented by iXi. And Théo Ceccaldi, a young improvising violin player as dashing as promising.
Their multi faceted music favors rich articulations in the land of the unseen and the unheard with strings flowing like rivers' beds.

"Poésie-téléphone"

JACQUES REBOTIER. DESIGN, VOCALS / EDWARD PERRAUD. DRUMS / FRÉDÉRIC RUI. VIDEO CONTROLS

Poetry is a musical connection to language. Jacques Rebotier belongs to the crazy family of words smashers and brains bangers. Playing on words like a fire blower, shifting sounds and meanings, anything goes, and most notably any disordered state that proves man is better described by his failures and approximations, when society would like him to be a perfect machine. Listen to the mad ringmaster intercepting predictable phone conferences and rendering its hodgepodge content. Making us twice happy, Rebotier the juggler invites Perraud the pyrotechnist, a drums specialist who turns any surface into a magic mirror, playing with rhythms' gravity and weightlessness.
