The three “Born in Flames” female leaders are perfect exemple of today’s social and political unrest in the USA and everywhere in the world. Indeed, they act as the meeting/melting point of many historical struggles with the same goal : poetical and social justice. Jean Grae was born of anti-apartheid activists and musicians; Invincible was born in the Palestinian occupied territories; Tamar-Kali is a supporter of the diverse cultural identity of the Gullah from South Carolina Islands. The question they collectively adress is : « What is the connection between music and activism nowadays ?"
