Tom Malmendier batterie
Mike Ladd poésie, spoken word

Alarme !

ENGLISH VERSION : Alert! The Kort’dakian Nation is in crisis. Fake news, you say? Of course. But the X-Files taught us long ago that the truth lies elsewhere. The freeform organicity of this trio anchored by Émilie Škrijelj and Tom Malmendier blends seamlessly with Mike Ladd’s hip-hop banter and talking blues.Three sensitive experimental musicians invent a story of improvised anticipation. In this modern and horrifyingly up-to-date tale, a nation gradually disappears, drifting away from its foundations and forgetting its soul. Any resemblance to our own is purely coincidental, they say. Nevertheless. Improvised music as practiced by these three inventors forces its makers to stand with both feet in the most immediate reality. The Kort’dakian Crisis blows the whistle. It’s a warning you’ll take to heart and remember, not some tiktokable tutorial.

AVA MENDOZA SOLO

ENGLISH VERSION : Vibrations, elegant phrasing, and tensions building to a storm. That’s one way to briefly describe the music of Ava Mendoza, guitarist, singer, and experimental musician. Playing solo or as part of convention-flouting bands, Mendoza has forged a personal repertoire, following paths both clear and unnatural. Let’s call it free rock. The grain is rough and the phrases flirt with naughty bends and riffs. Ava Mendoza’s style definitely refers to blues and rock. But there are two sides to every coin, and Mendoza’s work is no exception. She can also steer through bristling abysses reminiscent of Derek Bailey, one of her mentors, detonating clusters of notes that are perfectly free, plugged into a funky energy – just for the pure joy of letting an outsize personality and emotion burst into sound.
