EN CORPS EVE RISSER / EDWARD PERRAUD / BENJAMIN DUBOC

EVE RISSER - piano | EDWARD PERRAUD - drums | BENJAMIN DUBOC - double bass

Let's take a faceted ball. Is it the light or the mirror fragment it strikes that produces that little chip that would make you pass out so quickly? The En Corps trio, beyond its philo-patronymal pun, plays the same kind of trick on you. Confusion is a rule and the ear would get lost in trying to detect who-did-what. No tinkered themes but only the claimed pleasure of shimmering. The palette of each third of the ensemble brings its share of technique mastered by hand, inventions and discoveries on the spot. Eve Risser crosses an adventurous sword with the telepathic previously formed tandem of Benjamin Duboc and Edward Perraud. Enough to make you review your preconceptions on the historical extent of the piano, double bass and drums trinity.

EVAN PARKER / TYSHAWN SOREY DUO

WORLD PREMIERE
EVAN PARKER - saxophone | TYSHAWN SOREY - drums, percussions

This is enough to solve a small part of the Boston Tea Party of 1773. Being a Briton musician joining the game of the unheard duo with a musician from the USA. In all promises of brotherhood. Saxophonist Evan Parker describes his meeting with Tyshawn Sorey, a restless activist of new American music, as a resounding challenge. As comfortable in jazz as in its surroundings, Sorey finds other areas of sound invention in Schönberg or Stockhausen. Parker, as a sovereign blower, reinventor of post-Coltrane sax, also knows what exploration can provide as fuel. Too bad for the labels, the music that the two giants will forge already belongs to nothing more than to their mere encounter.
