FRED FRITH "Composing for images"

Imagine two magnetic poles: image and sound. What happens between them, what currents and energies circulate? Fred Frith has always sought to investigate what happens when music is improvised as the images unroll, as opposed to what takes place when it is composed after the final cut: “What is the basic world of sound we wish to inhabit? What is the relationship between music and global sound conception?”
