This is a special direct from Uzeste evening with movie and music but not a typical performance cinema event. We will discover, as a world premiere, Laure Duthilleul's documentary. A member of the Compagnie Lubat from 1977 to 1999, Louis Lubat's mother has been filming father and son for years. Her documentary shows the musical transmission from father to son. Obviously, the concert that follows will demonstrate it essentially and insolently.
LA COMPAGNIE LUBAT The Handover or "Changing by Exchanging"
La Tour Films presents "LUBAT PÈRE ET FILS"
A movie by Laure Duthilleul, éditing Adrien Pierre
"Through excerpts of talks, stories told, and shows, this movie creates its own chronology in order to rebuild the handover process and its consequences on the father and the son between 8 and 20 years old. What "change" occurs in them when they exchange? Father and son, echo and mirror. Let's play!" Laure Duthilleul
LA COMPAGNIE LUBAT
BERNARD LUBAT. VOCALS, PIANO / FABRICE VIEIRA. VOCALS, GUITAR / LOUIS LUBAT. DRUMS / THOMAS BOUDÉ. GUITAR / JULES ROUSSEAU. BASS
Compagnie Lubat follows the way of an improvised music that's ready for everything: "free" or "pop", Gascon or Brazilian, be-bop or funky, hip-hop or contemporary scat... An innate sense of groove and swing carries its alchemy of sounds. That Company gives away a lively musical sharing that shows the importance of transmission from father to son with style and know-how. From generations of musicians to another, and from musician to musician, they experiment the art of improvisation where the Other, whatever his age or style, brings his own ideas - and then "exchange makes change".
